Technical Support Engineer / Email Security (m/f/d)

Your mission

To strengthen our Support Team, we are looking for a service- and solution-oriented professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and providing knowledgeable and friendly support to our customers around our email security solutions.

This position is fully remote – you can work from anywhere in Germany or Switzerland.

Your responsibilities

  • You provide technical support to our customers and analyze and resolve email delivery issues, for example in connection with blacklisting or DNS entries such as MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  • You support the configuration and operation of our mail server solutions, particularly based on Postfix, and work confidently with Linux servers, ideally Debian/Ubuntu or CentOS/RHEL, via the command line.
  • You also assist end users with basic questions related to Windows operating systems.
  • You use your knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, firewall rules and basic network services for troubleshooting.
  • You automate recurring tasks and analyze log files, ideally using shell scripts (Bash), and use basic knowledge of relational databases when evaluating customer and system data.
  • You explain complex technical matters clearly and in a customer-friendly way to both technical and non-technical users and carefully document solutions and processes.
  • You actively contribute to the team, share your knowledge with colleagues and proactively participate in joint projects.

Your profile

Your skills

  • Must have: Email protocols (SMTP, DNS), Postfix, Linux command line, troubleshooting email delivery issues (blacklisting, MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewall)
  • Nice to have: Bash scripting, basic knowledge of relational databases, basic Windows knowledge

What you bring

  • Completed vocational training in IT, such as IT Specialist for System Integration or Application Development, or a comparable qualification, as well as initial professional experience in IT support, ideally with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or in a hosting environment
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure and draw logical conclusions
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English; French is an advantage
  • Strong service and customer orientation with a friendly, patient and empathetic approach, even in challenging situations
  • Understanding of IT security practices, particularly in the context of email security, such as phishing, spam and encryption
  • Team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and is comfortable working remotely and in geographically distributed teams
  • Strong willingness to learn, initiative and a structured, careful way of working with clear prioritization
